REPTILE RIDE CONTINUES ON THE FINNISH CHART
Reptile Ride is still hanging tough on the Finnish top 40, now at no. 34. We're positively surprised, as usually smaller metal albums like this spend only the first week in the chart and quickly disappear into oblivion. So again, kudos to all of you who bought it! And if for some weird reason you haven't bought it yet, do so now!

MORE REVIEWS / TOUR POSTERS

Uutislehti 100 (a free Finnish newspaper, circulation 334 000) gave the album 4/5, with quotes like "the band is is tight shape and in a mood to kill... astonishing guitar playing". Some more new ones:

REPTILE RIDE ENTERS FINNISH CHARTS AT NO. 5!
Darn people! We were hoping for a spot in the top 40, but this... this is unbelievable! How the hell did we make it into the friggin' top 5?? Thanks so much for everyone who rushed out to buy the album, you really made our day! Let's hope this inspires a few more to go and get the CD, and that the record stores who didn't have the balls to stock it right away will do so now. You can see the official Finnish album chart here.
The response to RR has been really good, it seems like you guys really like it! Keep the comments coming, either to our guestbook or the forum.
Anyway, last friday we played at Jalometalli, which was big fun. Good audience, nice weather and a jacuzzi backstage... what more can you ask for? Thanks to the crazy moshpitters in the front, and everyone else who showed their support! You'll find some pics from the festival here, here and here.

EXIT ERKKI
The rumors are all over the net, so we might as well release this official statement ahead of schedule... Yes, Erkki is leaving the band. No big drama behind the scenes: he is simply involved in too many projects to keep up with our hectic pace. And especially now, with a new album coming out and tons of gigs and promotion to do, we need every member's undivided attention on Amoral.
Not one gig will be cancelled because of this: we have a few qualified bass players in line to help us out if needed, and already some very potential candidates for a permanent band member. Though we are gonna take our sweet time before making anyone an official member of the band, that's for sure. You don't just walk right in the Amoral famiglia, you have to earn it...
Erkki will play his last gig with us at Jalometalli, Oulu on August 17th. We wish him all the best with his future projects.

AUDIENCE NEEDED FOR VIDEO SHOOT / HAETAAN YLEISÖÄ VIDEOON
Amoral is about to film a video for ”Leave Your Dead Behind”, the single from the upcoming album Reptile Ride, and wants YOU to participate. The shooting will take place at Nosturi, Helsinki on Sunday May 20th, and audience members should be there around 3pm. The idea is to do a good-ol’ “band and audience going crazy at a gig” –type video, so all moshers, stagedivers and headbangers are especially welcome. During that day we’ll also have the first public listening session of Reptile Ride, so if you’re interested to hear the new stuff, even more reasons to show up!
-----
Amoral on kuvaamassa videota tulevan Reptile Ride-levyn sinkkubiisistä "Leave Your Dead Behind", ja kaipaa SINUA yleisöksi.

ALBUM AND SONG TITLES ANNOUNCED
In case you haven't seen this anywhere yet, here's the official press release on the new album:
The Finnish hard rockin' and turbo lovin' quintet Amoral have completed the recording of their upcoming third album, entitled "Reptile Ride". The album will be released by Spikefarm Records on August 15th 2007.
The track-listing of "Reptile Ride" is as follows:
1. Leave Your Dead Behind
2. Nervasion
3. Hang Me High
4. Mute
5. Few and Far Between
6. Snake Skin Saddle
7. D-Drop Bop
8. Apocalyptic Sci-Fi Fun
9. Pusher
The opening track, "Leave Your Dead Behind", will be released as a net single earlier this summer. A video for the song is also in the make.
For a bonus track for both the Japanese release of the album and the net single, the band recorded their take on Swedish popstar Pandora's song "The Naked Sun". For those familiar with this contemporary classic, expect... well, expect something different.
"Reptile Ride" was produced, recorded and mixed by Janne Saksa at Sound Supreme Studios in Hämeenlinna, Finland.
After successful support tours all across Europe (in 2005 with Finntroll and 2006 with Dark Funeral), two showcase gigs in Japan, recent visits to Russia and Italy and countless shows in their home country, the band is once again hungry to get on the road. A few "warm-up" gigs have been booked for this autumn/summer, but serious gigging will start later this fall after the release of the album. So make sure to take a walk on the wild side and join the Reptile Ride!

ENTER STUDIO / RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED / DRUM CLINIC AT FME
Ahh, finally some updates, huh? The recording
of the yet untitled third album has begun. We'll be spending the next
five weeks at Studio Sound Supreme in Hämeenlinna with producer Janne
Saksa, and the plan is to walk out of here with one hell of an album.
The release date has been set to August 15th, so write that date down
in those little black books of yours! First new sounds should be out in
May in the form of a net single, to ease the pain of waiting. The new
album will consist of nine songs, and we're also covering one 90's
eurodance classic to use as a possible bonus track. Good times... The
mandatory studio diary is up and running, we'll be updating it
frequently so make sure to check back.
And now sports: Juffi will be doing a drum clinic at the Finnish Metal
Expo, Helsinki next saturday. This time he'll be joined by Erkki,
who'll deliver the groovy bass licks to beat the skins to. Showtime
18.15, expect funky times and some double parking!

PRE-PRODUCTION UPDATE
Hey all,
pretty quiet here lately, huh? well, it doesn't mean we've been
lazy y'know. Writing, arranging and rehearsing non-stop at the moment,
as well as working on the cover art (with our main man Aki Siltala) and
booking gigs for next year. So keeping busy, just like we like it...
Our producer Janne Saksa dropped by our practice place last sunday to
say hi, check out the new tunes and tell us to write better ones. He
already has lots of cool ideas, we're thrilled to get back to the
studio with the guy! Looks like the actual recordings will start
February 12th, so we have a little more time to practice.
For the very first time we're actually demoing the new songs with the
whole band (usually it's just guitars over programmed drums and bass),
just so see how they work out. A short clip of this goofy action can be
found here.
Ok, that's all for now. If nothing news-worthy comes up before the
holidays, have a swell Xmas, and remember: nothing says "love you mom"
like an Amoral CD or t-shirt...

We are pleased to inform that we'll be doing

the album last week of January, do the Italian dates and then head back
to the studio to finish album number three.
Other bands playing with us on this tour are Gory Blister + Rain. You
can check the dates and locations from the live-section. Hope to see as

MESSAGE BOARD OPENED/ CONTEST LAUNCHED
Alright, the official Amoral Forums
are here! So, please feel free to register in and talk/ask about
anything you feel like. We’ll be reading the board actively and try to
answer any and all questions you might have.
To go with the opening of the forums, why not have a small
contest? We have all kinds of goodies in our archives (Japanese
versions of our albums, old backstage passes, posters, patches,
wristbands…), which will be compiled into one cool bag of stuff for
someone to score. More specific list of the stuff will be posted on the
forum soon.
The winner of the goodie bag will be randomly drawed from everyone who
has posted something on the Amoral board during it’s first month. So
the closing day for the competition is September 15th.

STUDIO BOOKED
The studio has been booked for the recording
of the third album. Hämeenlinna Rock City awaits us again, as we enter
studio Sound Supreme in January 2007. If all goes well (Janne Saksa
doesn't throw us out, we don't get carried away with the pinball
machine etc) we should be done by mid-March.
Now, the question is: what the hell is there to do in Hämeenlinna
during wintertime? It's not likely we'll be going for a swim or to
throw frisbee in January, so we have no idea how to spend our free time
after working hours. Any and all good ideas and suggestions are
welcomed to the guestbook!
No release date has yet been decided on, but expect to hear new music
in the summer of '07. New material is coming out great, so we have no
worries about making the deadline. We cannot wait to start playing the
new shit live! There's some serious Gallows Pole Rock n´ Roll to be
unleashed...

PICS FROM TUSKA AFTERPARTY / WRITING ALBUM NO. 3
Hey all,
As you may have noticed, it's been pretty quiet at the Amoral
camp lately. Our Upcoming Gigs -list is shorter than ever (The
"Decrowning Europe" -tour is just about done), and we are finally
starting to work on new stuff for our third go at writing the Ultimate
Metal Album. We have a few more Finnish dates to play (with some more
possibly popping up later), but other than that it's time to
concentrate on writing songs.
Last week we had the honor to be the very last band to play on
the Tuska weekend, and the gig was lots of fun. As the theme of the
night was cover songs, we threw some classic riffs into our own
material throughout the set. The highlight of the show was during the
last two songs, when we had special guests onstage with us. Our friend
Christian Palin from Random Eyes did a cool duet with Niko on HIM's
"Your Sweet Six Six Six", and one Jeff Walker from Carcass came on for
the grand finale, Stryper's "Soldiers Under Command". It was quite a
headfuck, looking to my right while playing, and there's Jeff fukkin´
Walker onstage with us, singing Stryper! Check out some pics at Tartarean Deside.
Ok, that's all for now. We'll be updating the page every now and then,
so check back. Off to work on them riffs... -Ben

BACK FROM JAPAN
Oh my god!! Just got back from Tokyo (the
other guys got back earlier, I stayed for an extra week), and all I can
say is that the trip truly blew our minds. Where do I begin... The
place itself was just as mezmerizing as you'd expect, the people we're
so nice and the audiences were amazing. A huge thank you to Masa and
Woodbell, Naoko and Creative Man, Youthquake, the crew at both clubs
and especially all the fans who made us feel so very welcome. We had
the time of our lives, all thanks to you. Domo arigato gozaimasu! We'll
put up a proper Japan report and a bunch of photos this weekend, so
stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out Tammy's pics, mostly taken from our afterparty at the Current bar. Thanks to Tammy for the pictures!
Ok, gotta start working on that report. Make sure to check back soon...

SOME SUMMER DATES ANNOUNCED / JAPAN CALLING
A few new Finnish dates have been confirmed: June 10th in Helsinki,
August 8th in Mikkeli and August 18th in Pori. Check the live section
for more info. Even though some more gigs might pop up, this summer
won't be that busy for us on the live front, so we'll try to use it to
work on new material for the third album, due sometime next year.
But now it's time for us to pack our bags and head to the land of the
rising sun! We'll be leaving monday morning, while the rest of the
bands and crew will follow only the next day, so we'll have a headstart
on the sake. Damn, we can't wait! Hope all goes well and the crowds
will enjoy our sets. Expect some sort of a report on the first week of
June. There'll also be a split Amoral/Pain Confessor tour diary in the
upcoming Tuska-issue of Inferno Magazine... Sayonara mofos!

TAMPERE GIG FILMED / ANOTHER TOKYO GIG CONFIRMED
Last thursday's gig at Pakkahuone, Tampere was one of our best ones so
far, as the audience was absolutely fantastic! We never, ever expected
that kind of a response, being the first band and all, but you guys
just fucking killed. Kiitos Tampere! The gig was filmed for future use
(no plans yet), but hopefully we'll get to put one song online as a
live video soon...
In other news, another show has been confirmed for our Tokyo visit.
It'll take place the day before the "main" showcase gig in Liquidroom.
The venue is still unknown to us, but we'll keep you posted.
Next tuesday we'll play in Nosturi, Helsinki, opening for Bolt Thrower,
hope to see as many Amoral friends there as possible! We start already
at 20.15, so make sure to be there in time!

BACK HOME / SOME FINNISH GIGS COMING UP / NEW MERCH
So, we made it back alive from the tour,
which turned out to be a blast. Thanks to Dark Funeral, Naglfar,
Asmodeus, Endstille and the kick-ass crew for making this a memorable
trip. And a special thank you to everyone who came to see us and gave
us their support, it was great to play for you guys. Hope to see you on
tour again soon...
Our well-deserved (?) vacation is not gonna be much longer than a week,
as we have some more Finnish dates to play. In addition to the Mokoma
gig in Tampere, we'll be opening up for Bolt Thrower in Helsinki
(Nosturi 18.4.), and then head back to Tampere for a one-off headlining
gig (Klubi 5.5.) with Farmakon, Scorch Earth Tactics and Pofony.
Also, there's some new merch for sale. We finally got the new
Decrowning girlies, and also cool skull logo wristbands, check them out
at the merch section...

to be in the neighborhood, come check this cool package out...

The organizers are trying to fill the dates

POLISH GIGS CANCELLED FOR POLITICAL REASONS
Official statement by the Polish promoter:
"We are sorry to inform that DARK FUNERAL, NAGLFAR, AMORAL
& ASMODEUS gigs in Lódz and Katowice have been cancelled. Massive
Music would like to apologize for all inconveniences caused to Dragon
Productions and the bands. The cancellation is beyond our control, we
are entirely helpless in the face of the present political situation in
Poland. "
Mariusz Kmiolek
Guess the Polish authorities didn´t find Dark Funeral´s lyrics
funny, eh? This is truly fucked up, let´s just hope we won´t have more
cases like this popping up in the near future... |

TOUR UPDATES
One more date has been added to the upcoming European tour: March 29th
in Karlskrona, Sweden. Also, the band which will replace Endstille at
some of the latter gigs will not be Dark Fortress after all, but a band
called Asmodeus. For exact info about who plays at which gig, check Dark Funeral´s website...
So, only three more weeks to go before the tour starts, can´t wait!
Hope to see as many Amoral supporters out there as possible, and
hopefully win over some black metal fans too. Meanwhile, few more days
to vote for us at the Finnish Metal Awards as best newcomer, so if you haven´t already done that, follow that link...

AMORAL WANTS YOU!
Hear ye, hear ye,
Time has come for us to start building a Street Team, and we need your
help. We are now fortunate enough to have dedicated followers in many
cities all over the world, and the help of those would be highly
valuable in spreading the word and getting the band heard by new
people. What we´re looking for is people willing to help us out, mainly
by hanging posters and handing out flyers at their local music
stores/clubs etc. For example, with this tour we have coming up, the
idea is to get as many people as possible to know we´re coming to town,
and get them to come check us out. This is of course crucial for us to
be able to come back and do longer and better tours for you guys, all
over the world. Decrowning is also about to be released in the US and
Japan in March, and some extra promotion wouldn´t hurt...
So, if you believe in what we do and think Amoral is something
others should get into as well, please get in touch for more info. Drop
an email to street-team(at)amoralweb.com, and we´ll get back to you
with all the nessessary information.
Also, some people have been asking for wallpapers, so now there´s some at the pictures section, check ´em out...

EUROPEAN TOUR CONFIRMED (AGAIN!)
So, this one´s supposed to be 100% confirmed (yes, again), let´s hope
we´ll actually make it to the bus this time... We have been booked as
an opener for Dark Funeral on their upcoming European tour between the
21st of February and April 1st. Other Bands on this 37-date tour (which
just so happens to start in Finland) are our old touring buddies
Naglfar and Endstille (who will be replaced by Dark Fortress at some of
the dates). A highly black metallish package, yes, but we believe we´ll
be able to hold our own... Check the dates from the live section and
the poster here.

drunken action across Europe...

AMORAL AT THE FINNISH METAL EXPO IN FEBRUARY
Happy new year to everyone! We´ll start the
year by playing some more Finnish dates in January, so if you happen to
be in the neighborhood at the time make sure to check us out...
We (or at least some of us) will be "working" at the upcoming Finnish Metal Expo,
which will take place between the 17th and the 18th of February. Our
management TWU Music have reserved a booth for the weekend for
promoting their bands Swallow the Sun, Rebelhead and Amoral. So we´ll
be hanging at the booth answering questions like "how come the first
album was better", or the usual "what´s so amoral about you guys
anyway?" etc... So if you´re planning on coming to the event, drop by
to say hi, or just to point and laugh at us. We´ll also have our merch
with us there, so shirts and all that will be available there too...
See you there!

101 and Bleeder are available for listening here.

AMORAL CAMP GETS INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT
OK, last update of the year then. We played
our last gig of the year last saturday at Salo, which was a blast, with
a lot more people showing up than we expected. Same goes for our visit
in Kouvola the week before that, which also was killer. We have a few
weeks before the next gigs in January, and we´re taking a couple of
weeks break from practicing. We deserve it, right?
Thanks to everyone who has showed up at our gigs this year, bought the
album or supported our little hobby in any way, we are truly grateful.
A 31-gig European tour, Sauna Open Air, Tuska Festival and a new
album... this year has been good to us. And we´re doing our best to top
it in 2006, as we have a whole bunch of things cooking up for next year
already... So stay tuned, and have a holly jolly muthafuckin´
christmas, aaight?

FIRST LIVE DECROWNINGS
Ok, so last weekend we played our first gigs since the release of the
new album. Thanks to everyone who showed up at Tampere and Helsinki, we
had a blast! The show in Helsinki especially was great, as we had
Markus from Omnium Gatherum join us for Denial 101 and J from Elenium +
Sami and Ari from Dauntless helping us out with Wild Side. As Borat
would say: Happy time! Thanks to the special guests and especially all
you crazy fuckers in the front! We filmed the gig, and most probably
one of the songs will end up on the site as a live video soon... Below
some pics from Gloria (taken by Kristina Sundman), we´ll add more of
´em later to the gallery. El Diablo also took some great pics at the
gig, check them out here.

Many of you have asked us about the lyrics on the new album, since the

PROBLEMS WITH OUR SERVER / SOMNIUM GRANT
First of all, we´re sorry for this bullshit with the site being down
every once in a while. We´ve been having some trouble with our server
(partly due to the ever-increasing amount of visits), but as far as we
know everything should be ok now. Let´s hope for the best...
On brighter news, Amoral has been chosen to be this year´s
receiver of the Somnium grant. This fund was founded in memory of Teemu
Raimoranta, guitarist of Finntroll and Impaled Nazarene, who died
tragically in 2003. The fund is operated by the Finnish live music
foundation Elmu rs. The grant, 2000 euros, will be presented to the
band at this year´s Spinefeast, which will take place in Nosturi,
Helsinki on the 18th of November. Amoral would like to thank the
decisionmakers, this is both an honor and a huge help. At least for a
while now we won´t have to worry about our rehearsal room´s rent...
We are practicing for the upcoming Finnish gigs at the moment,
so that we´ll be in shape by the beginning of November. The Helsinki
gig at Gloria on the 5th of November will be a special one, we´ll play
an extra-long set with an exotic setlist and also have a few guest
appearances onstage... Do not miss it! Also, please note that the gig
in Henry´s Pub, Kuopio has been moved to January. Also playing that
evening (and the next day at Lutakko) are our friends De Lirium´s
Order... |

PICS FROM THE VIDEO SHOOT
Ok, the Lacrimal Gland video is now shot. It took about 30 working
hours, lots of headbanging and way more spins of the song that anyone
would´ve cared to hear, but once edited it should look pretty cool. A
huge thank you to the crew: Ari, Antti, Joose, Sami, Vale, Laura,
Janne, Aki, Jyri and Alisa. We appreciate it! Check out some pics from

NEW DESIGN / ANOTHER RADIO SHOW
As you can probably see, we´ve changed the looks of the site a bit to
go with the new album. Look around and tell us what you think. Also,
Silver and Ben guested on a show called Tuhkaluukku (Radio SuomiPop),
broadcasting this friday at 7pm, check it out.
As of now, every store in the world is capable of ordering Decrowning
to their selections, so if you can´t find it at your local store,
please ask them to order it for you. Many stores won´t stock a small
release like this if they´re not sure people are interested in it, so
do your share in the Amoral World Domination Plan and make sure
Decrowning can be found in your home town! We salute you...
